Ever since the very first IFF Bratislava, the makers of winning films have received glass statuettes from the same manufacturer. This is RONA, a.s. of Lednické Rovne, a glassworks with a tradition stretching back over a century, and whose products are exported all over the world. Over previous years, cooperation has also included the production of handmade champagne glasses, and now involves the manufacture of statuettes for the most successful filmmakers. RONA is proof of the fact that the symbiosis of film and glass also existed in the past, because in 1910, the son of the company's founder made the first feature film in Slovakia - Kidnap - in the municipal park. The combination of glass and film continues today, through the joining of a glass factory with the organisers of a successful festival of film art. From the outset, there was a guarantee that the partnership between RONA and the IFF Bratislava would be a mutually beneficial one, because the people involved in the festival had a clear conception of the results of their work and efforts. Film and glass thus found a common denominator - people who love art, which enriches their lives.
The authors of the prize are the following:
Rastislav Ulicný, creative director of the MUW Saatchi & Saatchi agency and Mgr.Art.Patrik Illo, a young talented designer.
Bratislava Film Festival awarded also the IFF Bratislava Award for Artistic Excellence in World Cinematography. This Prizes awarded to the English actress Vanessa Redgrave, the Czech actor Jan Tříska, the Austrian director Ulrich Seidl, the Hungarian director István Szabó and the Slovak-Czech director Juraj Herz.
